I agree with you here. The Macbook Air IS NOT FOR ME. I need a MBP. BUT, this doesnt make it a bad computer. Its aimed at teh business amn on the go. But if apple came out witha notebook made EXCLUSIVE for 3d designers or motion graphics artists WE WOULD LOVE IT, but a lot would say 'WHY? IM NOT A 3D ANIMATOR, THAT'S STUPID FOR APPLE TO MAKE THAT". but that wouldnt make it bad, only bad for them. but i agree with you. id like to have it but only for meetings etc.

with a ultra portable laptop a big screen isnt an advantage LOL like a mobilephone with a 10" screen

what i mean is, if you didn't have the thinness, a laptop with slightly better specs would be around 1200.
i don't see how the thinness is worth 1800 bucks. is there a warrantee that covers you snapping it or something?

emeek,
The MacBook Air is thin but at the same time it is useless for you and myself. Since we both do video production we need to have our DVD burners to burn the rough edits for our clients. With the MacBok Air I either need to use an external DVD burner (adds more space to the Macbook Air) or try to ask my client if I can use his or her DVD burner provided they have one (unprofessional).

Yeah I mean for fanboys like you it was awesome, but it wasn't like that for other people, like... normal people

Its pretty slick looking, I'll admit that. It will probably do really well with college students walking around campus half the day.

Hey Emeek!
As for optical, they did external cuz war of standards is not clearly over. So now we can connect ANY via USB (one port not enough? use HUB) |
