Thanks for mentioning that. I got all excited with the advice about using firewire for videos (that's my interest) until I too realized that this would only be true for Firewire 800. Am I correct in this? My Macbook is limited to firewire 400 and USB 2.0.

only mac pros, macbook pro and the new imacs have fw800. its is the fastest connection u can get on a mac unless u put in a esata pci card in ur mac pro.

USB 2.0 is 480mb/sec. Firewire is 400mb/sec.
