You have to activate it in store. So no unlocks. And the dev's have to work on a new unlock for the baseband, so it may take time.

I would like to know if the new Iphone 3g has any features that will prevent unlocks. :( :) Now it's interesting that Apple will sell the phone w/o contract for like... $599! or was $499 which leads me to believe that new one CAN be unlocked...but you'll pay. Anyone know the answer??
