these guys are also mid-90's!
bands like mineral, sunny day, cap'n jazz
and many others were defining a new kind of music
call it whatever you want, and yes i know those three bands are very different, but they had similar ideas when it came to their music

Don't categorize, just listen, as this is music. Enjoy

Hello littleevjr
As I read this, I thought of you, then I ead your name.....

You don't need to compare Cap'n Jazz to other bands, they were amazing anyway. :)
And I love those four guys at the front, all nodding their heads in unison!

Actually, aslonelascanbe, to say that today's "emo" is called "screamo" would be really incorrect. Listen to bands like Saetia, You and I, Usurp Synapse, Hot Cross, and This Day Forward. Those are more what you could call screamo. And the truth is the term "emo" did in-fact derive from "hardcore" punk bands who had a bit of a softer side and wrote more personal, "emo"tional lyrics, much like the peeps in this video.

i think what this band was doing was way, way beyond emo. there's so many different elements to their music. complex time signatures. tasteful noise. intricate melodies. sing-along lyrics. catchy guitar hooks. i don't even see how you can compare this to the likes of, say, mineral... or any of those early/mid-90's emo revival bands.

aslonelyascanbe, you need to gain a better understanding of the english language, and music, before you try to explain what 'emo' music is. What you said does not make any sense whatsoever.
