ohhh you have to look at it from both sides. heres my opinion and i think its fair. i LOVE both singers. i think matt is a better ICED EARTH singer. i think matt is the best in iced earth and is better than ripper in iced earth. but in terms of vocal range and just plain singing i think ripper blows him out of the water

lol who ever wrote the bio on rippers official site should be shot: "...in 2003 tim joined the Band ICED EARTH, and recorded the CD The Glorious Burden, which just might be some of Tim's best vocals to date. The CD has been loved by the press and said to have been the best Iced Earth CD yet..." really?

Heres my take on the whole Ripper vs. Barlow thing...there both great singers in very different ways...the old Barlow stuff is all great (especially the original Someting Wicked)...but IMO Glorious Burden was probably IE's second best album, Ripper brought a new life to the band when he came in and he has qualities that Barlow certainly doesnt have. I'm not to keen on either of the new Something Wicked albums...imo Glorious Burden was the last great IE album....

PERSONALLY, that's a fact... But lots of fans agree (that includes me) what Matthew Barllow is the fucking best singer for Iced Earth.

Best song on Glorious Burden. It's a lot better though if you listen to the Star Spangled Banner track first, as it flows into this one.
