THIS FILM AVAILABLE ON DVD FOR $4 A COPY AT: http://www.lhvm.org/order.htm For more than 170 years, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has declared the Book of Mormon to be a scriptural and literal history. Subtitled "Another Testament of Jesus Christ," it recounts the story story of an Israelite family who immigrated to and fully populated the American continents. Jesus, after His death and resurrection, is said to have visited this once-great Israelite civilization existing in the Americas. The Book of Mormon teaches that these Israelites are the principal ancestors of modern-day Native Americans. New discoveries in DNA research currently allow scientists to test this historical claim. Thousands of Native Americans from more than 150 tribes have been tested to determine their ancestry. Now the same DNA evidence used in courts of law can credibly speak to the validity of The Book of Mormon, which serves as the foundation of the Mormon religion. The evidence answers one basic question: Are Israelites the principal ancestors of Native Americans? "DNA vs. The Book of Mormon" presents the evidence from DNA researchers, including Mormon scientists, who are wrestling with the DNA dilemma that now faces Mormonism. Participants: Thomas W. Murphy; Dr. Simon Southerton; Dr. Randall Shortridge, and others.

heyman537 If you are interested in learning about the LDS church, I sure hope you don't base your opinions on videos like this. By the way, some members of the LDS church have responded to the arguments contained in this video. It never seems to occur to Mormons that someone who criticizes their religion might know more than they do. Given how poorly educated upon church history most LDS are, I find that absolutely amazing.

heyman537Me? I want a new job. But you sound very cynical. Maybe you find joy in making rude comments to others and acting like a smart ass. Well, I don't have a job for you. But I do have some exciting news -- you can drop out of your LDS cult & revolutionize your life by refusing to accept absurd, disproved stories, delivered by a convicted con artist. Now, that wasn't so cynical & smart-assed, was it, Heyman?!!

OK, my bad. I guess I was hard on you but I'm serious, so many people against the church love to start off their anti-Mormon rants by saying "I have many good LDS friends, but ..." If you are interested in learning about the LDS church, I sure hope you don't base your opinions on videos like this. heyman537 Satan, On a scale from 1 to 10, how happy are you? Really? 11. You?

@heyman537 - I am unbiased. So I like "truth" you can examine scientifically. I like this video so much because it 1) is about science and religion, two favorite topics; and 2) it gives a counter-argument to a religious position in a thorough yet respectful way. The part I do not like is the ending, where it becomes clear this vid is an Christian evangelistic tool. Maybe the makers of this vid could examine their *own* beliefs in the light of science. But it's still a good video for what it is.

So what ward did you attend? The ward I attend regularly uses the Bible for study. After all, it is the word of God.

Oh I just love comments that people make to try to show they are so unbiased. Give me a break! You are neither Christian or Mormon, yet you are entranced by this video? Do you make sense? No.
