depends some start about 300.00 on up. i have one that I bought from the Imperial Forge that cost me 1,100 with free shipping and every other sword I have doesnt compare to it.

They usually operated as administrators to maintain a steady operation of their lands, and also served as the military backbone of their Lords. I'm not sure if they operated to give "Justice" to their people like their Western counterparts, however. During the Edo Jidai, their tasks became much more numerous because they were taken 'off' of the land and then placed into a series of miscellaneous positions (Even Taste-testing for their lords!).

i paid £9000 for my sword i also have 3 other swords like it but not as well made or for that matter sharp which cost me in a range from £2000-£5500 oh by the way they are all priceless, especialy to me so there isnt enough money in the world to buy my swords off me if i me and my wife ever had kids (which we wouldnt :P) i would rather throw them in front of a bus rather than my swords be taken from me

Yes, thats why I think gus are covardly way of killing. Not that killing with a sword is right either. Its just when they used sword in war it took a lot of courage and you had to be always prepared and fast. Now they are just big bombs and machineguns that gould kill millions of people in war and you can shoot someone in the head from hideout miles away.
