And ep 4-6, again George never wanted them to be graceful. He only wanted them to be graceful in eps 1-3.

Its called quick cutting (no not with the sword but with the camera) if the camera constantly cuts away, it can make a slow move look fast pace.
Obiwan could have also left the fight, but he entrusted it to Luke. Thats why he threw the fight.
Yes it does. Vader is a big slow clunking cyborg and George SAYS IT HIMSELF. He states that episode 4-6 Jedi consisted of an old weary man, a slow moving cyborg, and a very youthful Jedi.. and a puppet.

slow swing made to look fast.... -_- why would they make it look fast if they intended the lightsaber to be a slow weapon.
no obi-wan was just holding vader off and distracting him. vader wasnt trying because he didnt need to, because at any time he could finish him
him being a cyborg has nothing to do with it....
he did go against storm troopers, remember the speeder scene in return of the jedi... (clearly u havent seen them lately)

no i dont mean that. holy crap man this is frustrating. when he began work on the star wars universe, he originally intended the lightsabers to be heavy weapons like battle axes. at the start of filming however he changed his mind and they became graceful weapons not clunky slow ones.

You honestly misheard what he said. When George said the lightsabers were meant to be heavy, he meant it in episodes 4-6. He wanted them to be wielded like slow weapons, in which in the movies 4-6 they WERE. You probably mean he changed them in episode 1, which he did.

Vader vs obiwan, it was an old man vs a cyborg. He only decided to become one with the force when he saw Luke was able to escape.
Luke vs vader, a cyborg vs a kid.
Luke nevre fought stormtroopers with a saber.
Luke vs vader. Slow, because the weapon was heavy. Even when luke went all out on him, he was swinging his weapon like a slow chunky weapon. George said it was like excaliber.

in the special features disc that came with my 4-6 movie set, George specifically stated that originally the entire lightsaber was supposed to be extremely heavy like they were wielding battle axes, but he changed that at the beginning of a new hope to being extremely light.

obi-wan vs random guy in bar = fast as it was necessary
vader vs obi-wan = obi-wan knew he was going to die so he was not even trying.
luke vs vader = slow due luke sucking and vader not wanting to kill him
luke vs storm troopers = as fast as any of the first 3 movies
luke vs vader = slow due them luke wanting to talk. this was an emotional battle, a battle fought in the heart

Wtf? New hope WAS SLOW. New hope = episode 4.
Lucas himself even wanted them to be slow, he even stated this in his commentary.

wtf no when he thought them up before even making a new hope he planned on them being heavy and slow. but when he started filming a new hope he changed his mind to them being light and fast. |
