http://www.uberpulse.com/us/20... After the end of the formal executives presentations at the Intel Investor conference, I wandered around the demo area set up in the same building, looking for some cool new technologies. To me the most interesting one was, "news oblige", the Atom booth where Intel engineers were showing prototypes of Nettops using the upcoming low-power Atom processor. I chatted with Nettop general manager Noury Al-Khaledy (pictured) about his Atom-based desktop that could sell at the super low price of 200 dollars. Inspite the Atom CPU low performance, about half of the Celeron chip (the Atom chip is supposed to be th smallest [performing] element of computing), I thought it was enough power to surf the web or watch a standard definition movie. "It's purposed built from the ground up to deliver an Internet centric usage model. Very simply what that means is, if you want to surf the Web... It does that great... It's a consumption based machine (social networking, web browsing, very light editing)... It's a very aspirational box for someone who's trying to do a Net type of experience. If for example you want to watch HD video or you want to decode or encode videos, then we'll be looking at a Core 2 Duo box... Pricing will be around $199 to $250 price range... The mobile version of that, you would expect a $250 to $299 price range", said Al-Khaledy. And as a souvenir, Intel gave all the conference attendees a sample of the Atom chip... pretty cool! http://www.uberpulse.com/us/20...

el tipo de abajo caka123456 habla de un centrino, que no comparaban el celeron? pero si de de celeron a atom hablamos, son muy parecidos, los dos son para niñitas con calzones rosas

i have an acer aspire with one of these cpus its a nice little cpu its quite speedy for what it is

I could if i had a couple towers and intel chips and you drove down to me house but listen the only thing that makes a quad faster a bot faster is the 8MB L2 cache wich most liekly caches more ram

Prove that this is faster than the Q6600 and I will stop dating your mother.

Atom is half the performance of Celeron, but the Atom runs at a higher clock speed, so it ends up being about the same in many cases. For example, a 900Mhz Celeron M is about as fast as a Atom at 1.6Ghz. That's the half the performance he's talking about. If it was running at the same speed as a Celeron, it would be half the performance.

jajajajajajaja estúpidos!!! comparan Centrino con Atom!!! jajajajajaja Son procesadores distintos para USOS distintos... para que entiendan estos gringos imbéciles... You can´t compare Centrino and Atom...!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you got noyhing!!! hahahahahahahahahahaha Atom was made to be used on Nettops, Netbooks, MIDs, etc... Not to play games!!! hahahahahahaha Atom is more efficient than Celeron to CONSUME and not to PRODUCE internet contents... got it? C U moron!

is the intel atom any good is it as quick as the intel centrino duo

quad cores over heat, and are less stable because of that heat.

Atom is totaly fast enough for anything you throw at it, add the intel X25-E ssd drive to this chip with basic onboard graphics, and I GARANTY YOU youll blow away ANY PC running a quad core, a regular hard drive, and a top rated video card! a computer is only as fast as its slowest part! the storage drive! A cpu cannot fetch data faster than the storage can give it. Atom is probably one of the best most energy efficient and most stable cpu's intel has ever made.

I didnt say that second part. but im saying is, many games out today demand alot of processing power and graphics power regardless of the ratings of the game.
