Nvidia is still my choice. Their drivers and video cards are more stable.

DONT BE STUPID! Maybe the ATI has Faster FPS... BUT! Consider the quality of the graphics. UNCOMPARABLE to Nvidia. I prefer to have slower card (and to the eye its not even noticible!) but with perfect graphics and abilities. BE SMART. ATI is only speed. It's like having A DRAGSTER car for DFRIFTING. Enough said!

Not anymore. Even the 260 Nvidia is faster with new drivers.

X2 cards live or die by their drivers, pluss you could have a 4 way SLI with the 280, which would (in theory) be faster. But the 4870X2 beats the 280 on price-to-performance ratio.

lol gddr5 my tits, no bennifit beyond making the card more costly and saving the card from the bad thermals gained from sticking two chips on a single pcb.
even the gtx260 has a higher memory bandwidth than the 4870.
