and then.. if you can wait a month or two new cards are coming out from nvidia so prices should drop lower... again... and again.. and again... and u'll end up with a P166 MMX with Win98 anyway, this card is not so great... in WiC i've 35 FPS with 1 GF 8800 GTX overclocked with the same setting... (and Vista x64) 9800 chips, x2, +300 Watt.. for only 14 FPS?

Yes now is a good time, but if you can wait a month or two new cards are coming out from nvidia so prices should drop lower.

Computenator (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
yea, i know that. sorry if i was rude in my comments cause i've had a really really bad day today :)
GoodMomo (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
That's true, I've seen the GX2 for as much as $700 at some retailers. But that's the retailer's fault, because the actual value of the card is $285-ish.
Computenator (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
your talking about the USA prices but in Europe the prices are totally different...
GoodMomo (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Hey numbnuts, it seems I know more than you, since I can use THE INTERNET (GASP!) to do a search and find it for $285 at Newegg. Yes, this card sucks when running 4xAA on 1920x1200, but other than that, it blows all the rest away, for half the price. I don't need to know about computers to know about PRICES, and heck, I do know about computers. 3.6Ghz on stock voltage C0 E8400.
Computenator (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
are u kidding me??? LOL do you even know something about computers??? 9800gx2 costs sometimes even more then gtx 280 and is 50% slower in 80% of games!!!
GoodMomo (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
GX2 = $285 dollars at most. GTX280 = $390 AT LEAST. HD4870X2 = $510 AT LEAST. GX2 = Almost same performance as the GTX280 (Better in some cases) and HALF the price.
