you need to be able to get a certain way through the story mode before you unlock being able to glide further.

In this video Bart manages to glide WAAy further than I usually can! HOW?? Is there some kind of upgrade?? If so, when do you get it? or, what do you have to do to get it?
I can't get on top of Jepordia Springfield Statue even when I try to glide across from the blowy thing on that roof.
