if you think Christianity isn't a "religion"....then you need to watch my upcoming video on the topic.

No possibility that they could be wrong, or that the Church could be wrong about anything. Atheists, agnostics, Christians, Hindus etc. who are not dogmatic, could fall under an umbrella of 'free thinkers' who have their own personal beliefs, however do not feel that others do not have a right to believe what they choose, or that they must 'convert' (or de-convert) those that disagree with their belief system.

While being spiritual means for lack of better terms, being a free thinking Christian, a person who looks at the Bible, and other material available and draws their own conclusions about what the proper way to behave is. I find that most of the people that are extremely dangerous, such as those that would ban evolution, or say that all Gays are going to Hell, fall into the 'religious' category, while some of them are indeed well educated in their own belief system there is...

I use the term religion in my opening 'rational religion' really is not referring to specific doctrines rather the general beliefs of those that think there is a God. In the more specific, I do not consider myself a religious person as much as a spiritual person and I tend to encourage others to do the same within the Church. Religion to me is a set of ceremonies and doctrines that one follows as a member of a specific group of believers, such as Methodists, Catholics, or Baptists.

You raise an interesting point that I had not considered KH, there is a definite line within the Christian community between the 'religious' and the 'spiritual.' As you well know the term Christian covers a wide verity of people ranging from hard-core-dogmatic ideologists to extremely liberal secularists. One line that seams to divide them is the concept of religion.
KingHeathen (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I've considered that...but it makes it even harder to make the category then... Think of it in census terms: Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, (etc...), Non-theist. VS... Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, atheist, agnostic, deist, humanist, secularist... now suddenly that last half of the group doesn't seem as important because they are divided. I don't know how you add moderate Christians in with non-religious people...but I would love to figure that out.
KingTheist23 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I think that you could actualy do better KH if you include rational theists in your fold. I do not like the lunitic extreams pushing the religious agenda any more then you do.
