Not technically true: nothing recognizable as blues qua blues emerged until after Emancipation, even if the conditions of sharecroppers on large plantations around the turn of the century may indeed have been not too far removed from slavery.

Okay, he can do things on a three string most people can't on a six. And now he has just proved he can do the same on a one string! You rock Seasick Steve! Keep blues'n your way around the world, dude!

good talent. his story is fake though. he is just playing a character.
GUTTURALROB (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Too true Seeing as blues does originate from slaves playing whatever they could find

Art from the simplest of instruments, this is what the blues are about.

I have heard it also and agree. Guess a studio album is bound to lack some of the energy and edge of the live performances. Especially in blues where there is so much improvising. Also it misses the dirty, shabby feel of the music... A live album would be awesome :)
