Knew he had a sense of humour, ol' John. Reportedly he remarked that Hitler was on the telly when he saw a programme featuring a performance by Sparks--Ron Mael's 'stach bearing an uncanny resemblance to You-Know-Who.

Lennon loved it. They sent him a copy and he said it was hilarious

The music is actually fantastic. Well done to Innes; it's has that Beatlesque-feeling. (Not that I have any clue who these Beatles are??)

I agree! When I first saw it I could not believe how good the music was! It's actually quite listenable on its own, too. Great film!

Possibly the most brilliant parody ever--every song in this film is so spot-on Beatlesy! Of course George was in it, but I think the others would approve--even John, who takes quite a going over in it (as does Yoko!).
