Apology accepted.

Your response to what I wrote appears to me to be completely reactionary and doesn't really grasp what I was saying. I apologise for being patronising, but I just follow your lead.

Awesome.

*the* hundred different kinds...

Oh, I think he has a pretty good grasp on reality. The guy makes more money than you and I put together. He's does that because he's clever and funny, and respected by thousands in the UK. More. Oh, and being intelligent, of course he's an atheist. His 'pontification' as you put it, is eminently more digestible than than hundred different kinds of shit we hear from religious people.

Forgive me for saying so, but dispite the fact that I enjoy Fry's humour, he did disappear up his own arse some time ago. If you can detach yourself from an intellectual bubble and wonder where this kind of pontification get's us in a world of self-destruction, then grasp reality.

Listen from 1:55 on, it takes that long to get to the point. But they are great comments from La Fry. We created God because we are capable of imagining this entity. Some of us confuse imagination with reality...but the rationalists among us know that "the fire is within us".

Nice Post Samjack. I've been saying a lot of what you just said for years. Simple answer: Much of humanity is just plain, blind, stupid, ignorant, afraid and can't get beyond their Bible being a real book written by their god. As I approach 50, my simple conclusion as an ex-christian is that either A: There is no Biblical God or B: A creator started everything, does not play a part in human affairs, this is Deism. Revealed Religion just cannot be true.
