Well buckethead's constant use of dissonants and chromatic diminished scales doesnt help the argument. You have to search through his library of that stuff to find the good stuff

Thats what I just thought. Buckethead often uses Paul Gilbert's repeating aeolian (?) mode alternate picking scale exsercise in his solos.
I'm sure he learned that from Gilbert when he was his teacher. Which at that time he wasnt 'Buckehead' yet.
Though yeah they never played together.
