THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT SENDING A CHECK TO ANYONE. you should re-write the intro to this video to say:
"tax payers are having some of their hard earned money returned."
whenever you read an article that says, "the GOVERNMENT ......" replace the word GOVERNMENT with taxpayers.
THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT that pays for anything. TAXPAYERS pay. READ THAT AGAIN.
Government pays for the bailout? nope. taxpayers.
Government pays for the wars? nope. taxpayers.
government pays for welfare? nope.

Actually, it is almost impossible for it NOT to help the economy.
If all you did was put your stimulus check in the bank and never did anyhing with it, it would still help the bank! The bank would then have just that much more lending power, which would provide the consumer with more opportunities to get loans for homes or cars or whatever.
I think the only way the stimulus would be of no effect is if you cashed your stimulus check and buried it in a coffee can in your backyard.

Do you realize that saving yourself IS saving the economy?
This guy is trying to make the argument that the stimulus check that the gov issued (and may issue again) will not end up being spent like the gov intended them to be. Rather, they will be used to pay off debt or just be saved.

These stimulus checks only stimulates the oil companies and Saudi Arabia! Thanks President Bush, for robbing us blind! Bush gives us a tax break, and the Saudis Bush saw an opportunity. Lets take America's hard earn tax money, and brainwash them in giving them a tax break, but at the same time raise oil prices! Who benefit from these tax breaks? President Bush and Saudis Arabia! While the US economy suffers from inflation and recession!

Use my current savings to buy the ticket, and spend the $600.00 in some other country. GOV wants me to do something for them. Bush has not done one thing for me in the last 7 and a half years.
