Alfredo Kraus was one of the best Spanish tenors of the XX century, but he had to raise the tone of some scores because he did not have low notes, he could not sing below the natural E. It is for this reason that he sang this song so acute. It sound a bit shrill.

as a training tenor myself, i have to say, that, Alfredo Krauss is certainly a tenor to look up to. this piece is next to learn with my teacher and if i could sing it anywhere near, as good as this , then i will be extremely happy.Superb rendition, what a great voice.

the high note after minute 3 is not appropriate. Check Schipa's rendition for a really moving one. Nevertheless, a great maestro,

Who needs a visual when you have some of the BEST music this side of Heaven? If I had to pick three tenors I would want to hear singing together ---Placido Domingo, Joseph Schmidt and Alfredo Kraus. Kraus has a Mexican SOUL and a German voice --PERFECTAMENTE! Placido might have been born in Spain but he eventually learned how to do mariachi music right! Joseph Schmidt was family so I am a bit biased.WHAT WOULD IT HAVE BEEN LIKE TO HAVE HEARD ALL THREE TOGETHER? Sounds a lot like my Dad too.

Fantástica interpretación; un tenor que se mantuvo alejado de iniciativas como Los 3 Tenores (sus razones tendría) y que perseguía interpretar con toda la calidad posible. Gracias por colgarlo.
