What about the rights of the mother? What about her rights to not have her life hijacked for 9 months to go through a pregnancy that carries high odds of complications and will alter her body forever?
We can talk about the rights of the fetus, but it must always go alongside the arguments and acknowledgement of the women's autonomy to her own body. We know the mother is a sentient beign deserving of rights, but we are nowhere near as certain with the fetus. In that situation I know who wins.

indeed we dont yet pose a threat YET. But we will. Just as no one belived america would beat the british, just as many mocked the idea of African american rights, people shut down the rights of these Children. But we will win as americans that stand up for whats right have always won.
And you want me to use an argument based on reality huh? I know that God is as real as you and me. So weather I use logic like in some of my comments or use God in others both arguments are based in REALITY.

When it comes to abortion, the situation deals with the murder of millions of innocent children, how do you think Christ would react?

Right..
We live in a secular society. I know many religious people that are both pro life and pro choice. To monopolize god as saying he is pro life is ridiculous. The bible is very ambiguous on the issue of abortion.
If you want to argue against abortion, use an argument based in REALITY. There are many out there, you might have a little more success.
I sure enjoy the fact that the pro life side is still so religiously motivated. They pose no threat to choice.. yet.

you may indeed have a point, i haven't seen a video of an abortion, 2 points though, i assumed the baby has its eyes closed? and its pitch black inside of someone anyway... how does it see?
well another quite unpopular point with pro lifers is that the world is over populated anyway... banning abortion aside from the debates about morality isn't practical in a modern society, grim point perhaps but the truth is there.

All the philosphy and wisdom of men is nothing compared to the wisdom of God.

What you say is true. However Chirst used diferent tatics for differnt situations. I dont think any of us are diling a sacred temple.
In front Of Harod he was silent, and to pilat he bore simple yet power testomony of His Diviity and purpous. You need to asses the situtaion before you make a chiose as to which method you use.

When people use churches to argue morality, a little part inside of me dies. Listen, there are great moral arguments for and against abortion, but falling back on religion is such a bloody copout. Go to a bloody philosophy class or something and get with the times.

"Christ would use gentle persuasion not harsh accusaion to convice others"
1) Have you read the entire New Testament, Jesus was often harsh with sinners. Remember how he reacted when he saw the merchants selling things in the sanctuary.
2) Jesus didn't try to convince people, he confronted them with the truth. Jesus did not go around debating people, he set forth what was the truth.
3) Ghandi was not a Christian, so I wouldn't be looking to him for what Christ taught.

You're not a true Catholic if you support Obama because he is all for abortion and Planned Parenthood which the Church does not support nor teach upon that. |
