Very well put, that is how I always saw it. The second we better ourselves and become more humane, star trek introduces the crazy sci-fi elements that force us to dig even further.

No. NCC-1701-D would still be the 5th starship to bear the name U.S.S. Enterprise. Archer's ship was just called Enterprise. Also the ship registry is different. If Picards ships reg was NX-01-D (or E as it is now) then yes Paramount would have f*cked it up.

I, personally, very much miss Enterprise and wish that once the got their space legs that fans would've stepped up to support the show in their continued or renewed viewership. True - it could've been Trek fatigue, but it's hard to argue that Enterprise wasn't a well produced (visually, especially) show and that the writing didn't continually improve as the show progressed. Would've loved to have seen what could've been in seasons 5-7. Cut down in it's prime. |
