my parents got divorced when i was 6 months old, but i got to see my dad a couple times a week, but it still sucks sooo bad, i never wanted to get pityed so i never talked about it

Thank you. My parents split when I was 3 and I didn't see my dad again till I was 17 1/2. Yes, divorce sucks, but the last thing we want is pity. Like you said, all I wanted was friends who wouldn't fuck up my life the way my mother did, but all everyone else wanted was to pity me which just made me feel worse. If more of my friends treated me the way you described, I would have had a much happier childhood.
