According to the World Health Organization, the United States spends more money per person on healthcare than any country in the world. However, countries with universal healthcare systems (including Canada, Britain, and France) have higher life expectancy and lower infant mortality rates, despite spending a smaller percentage of their income on healthcare.

oh JILamp, it's cute that you want to contribute, but you don't have a "right" to drive a car, that would be a privilege. The Constitution does not address what citizen CAN do, it states what the Government CAN NOT do. Notice also, that you don't have the right to be happy; sorry. You have the right to pursue happiness. Gov't will not provide that. Sorry, but you don't have the right to anyone else's labor. The Gov't can require someone to be a doctor to provide health care.
JILampropoulos (October 7, 2008 at 4:36 am)
The constitution mentions nothing about healthcare because it was not a major issue then. Where in the constitution does it say you have a right to drive a car, meaning driving cars is unconstitutional?

I applaud you. Excellent commentary. I completley agree with you.

Healthcare civil rights????
You libs make me sick. Could you please grab your copy of the Constitution and let me know where "health care" is found?
Sorry, in this country, YOU have the right to succeed or fail. I have the right to tell you to go take a flying leap.
Take a flying leap and get your hands out of my pockets.

"medical care is such a basic need of life it should be free..."
I suppose you want Universal Food, and Universal House too.
(oh wait...we have universal house now--great job congress, I thought we needed to socialize one more program)

no you dont have any right to it, if you just met him outside in the forest fx. But when there are doctors working at a clinic, it should be a right. In the US people are denied proper healtcare if they cant pay, and they just leave them to die. No matter waht you say, can justify that! its a disgrace, its sick and psycotic. Even if they treat them, they will be handed a 50000 dollar bill and told: "you should be thankful" bullshit, medical care is such a basic need of life it should be free

well if universal healthcare in a country runs bad, then its the goverments fault, and lack of competence to run things properly.
JILampropoulos (October 5, 2008 at 4:38 pm)
We are not giving our rights and money to democrats we are improving healthcare so that everyone is insured. Do you want a strong and healthy nation!? Democrats are the only party devoted to healthcare civil rights as I refer to it. Vote Democratic and you will be happier. |
