ill only mention about politics not what their island is like...
anyway the political system is still based off from the 1949 one in which roc sees itself governing china. they have election and different governing system BECAUSE OF THAT REASON, not due to the political system difference because of they want to be "independent": because of economic growth.

sorry taku02x2, china is a western name, taiwan is a chinese ming dynasty name given to the island. we call the whole civilisation zhong hua min zu, and taiwan being a pinyin chinese name was is and will always be a part of it
