http://amasci.com/coilgen/ Build this ultra-simple AC electric generator from magnets, wire, and cardboard. (And a big nail!) Light a small lightbulb, or flash a red LED. This demonstrates how generators work. Now if you want a more useful device, use a small DC motor as a generator, since it has much better magnetics design. All motors are generators. Figure out how to spin a motor's shaft, and you can make a small powerful generator. Or... figure out how to convert the cardboard generator into a motor!

thats the most simple version of the tesla coil and it explains sumhow how it works.. not fully but basically :o Good job ;)

ITs godd if I have only 2 magnets???

your bold buddy...gets some hair and maybe i will pay attention more =D

like a homopolar motor if you touch the wire to the nail would it spin by itself

Haha no fairrr! You must be the person who took all the big magnets from home depot when I Went! All I got were the small ones...pretty strong though for their size.

Nice work, yeah basically to generate power a wire has to cut magnetic North at 90 degrees its cool stuff really basic if get a reel of coax cable and grab the end and run it off the reel fast also making sure you position it to cut earths magnetic north u can get the same effect its stores the power in the cable till u touch it and get zapped i dont know how easy this would be but i know it can be done

I tried to make the generator but it would not light,I think it might be because of the magnets,I have the exact same ones but i thinks it's the positions of them, so what position must they be in?Or the the way i connected it,how must it be connected?

Buy everything from Radio Shack. You don't really need spacers on the magnets, but it helps keep them centered when spinning fast. Instead of plexiglas just use bits of cardboard and tape.
