I did once see Philip Glass on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect but no, for the most part I can't imagine well-known artists on TV today.

This show is yet another reason that I'm convinced TV was better in the 50's. Could you image a well-known artist appearing on "The Price is Right" or "Deal or No Deal"?
