Just before the Touch Down the Stall Warner should Sound it sounds about 5 Knots above the stall and the audible signal is what tells you your about to lose a lot of lift and hence flop on the the runway At that phase of the landing you are not looking at your Airspeed Indicator.
A Stall in a PA38 is something you don't want to do, They don't call them TerrorHawks for nothing!

You alyways come in high on a visual approach in a light aircraft compared to the 3 degrees glide slope of the PAPI's otherwise you are low and slow for a long time, Not good if the donkey stops! Also he was asked to Land Long.

Reminds me of my days learning to fly at a big airport. You always get the hurry up from controllers at big airports. The jets are barrelling in at 160 knots while you bimble along at 60. BTW bluenose, a stall warning just at touchdown is considered a good thing. %0 foot off the ground, a bad thing! And Prescott, he were high because he were asked to land long! Sheesh! All these Microsoft pilots! |
