Looking at footage of "the Budwiser Rocket", when it is doing about 1000 km.hour, the stunt-man Stan Barret hit the other sidevinder, and that is a crazy sight.. shooom

The Budweiser Rocket, in 1979, according to famuos pilots on the X-15, using the same instrumentation as measuring the X-15`s speed, a peak-speed of more than 1190 km.hour. It accelerated from stand-still to 800 km.hour in just ten seconds, using sidevinders. It went only one way, and had three wheels. But it is still in the Guinness record book, as an unofficial record for "rocket cars". Official record for rocket cars is still "The Blue Flame" (1970)

Er no it didn't Blue Flame went 622 ish in 1970, The car you are referring to was the Budweiser rocket car driven by Stan Barrett (nascar driver Stanton Barrett's dad) and it supposidly did 740 in 1979, This however is hotly disputed, there was no sonic boom for example, the speed for the one way run at edwards air force base took 8 hours to establish after the single run as the equipment was so shoddy, it was not officially recognised by anyone and the car simply didn't have enough power...

Forget SSC Ultimate Aero's, Koenigsegg CCXR edition's and Bugatti Veyron's this is the car I would want to own most of all.

He probably could've bought a better camera, but chose to pimp out his gameboy's speakers instead.
