A man said once that the universe is bizzar.
But how can it be that when it is the way cosmos is?It´s just the way it´s always been,it´s so natural something can be,and the truth can never be bizzar.

Yeah, thats what I thought it meant.

It means:
Enery (in a given amount of matter) equals the MASS of that matter times the speed of light, or c, squared. Get it?
mass of matter * Speed of light * speed of light = The amount of energy making the matter up.
Thoughts: Why is it squared and not cubed? Then again there are three multiplications so I guess that is like cubing the whole thing which makes sense in a 3-Dimensional space based universe. Not sure though...

Pretty good video to sum it up in a few words. I never fully looked into it, but I assumed it had something to do with mater basically being light - or pure energy either way - and therefore to convert it would be to generate equal amounts of energy from matter, or vice versa.
It seems that there should eventually be a way to efficiently convert energy without loss...

Thank you, this was very informative. I think it was a poor choice to compare energy to gasoline - presumably, you mean the kinetic energy released from the explosion when the fumes from gasoline are ignited. Still, you did a good job explaining energy matter (and antimatter.)

We all have the idea of what mass and energy are, and can appreciate that either can be converted into the other. Einstein's equation even tells us how much of one potentially converts into how much of the other. But what exactly is beautiful is its connection to us as matter and energy.
Thanks for This Brief Explanation!
