On a superficial level...that funk shows off a bassist's skills-is true. However, a more in depth listen finds Deacon playing appropriate but rather simple lines on most of Queen's funk tunes. He actually gets to "spread his wings" more on songs like the Fairy Feller's, Millionaire Waltz, Bring Back Leroy...luckily Deacon gave Queen new success with Bites the Dust...still he's criminally underated...
