if you dont know then you dont need one. And what the guy above me said is totally of course people write viruses for macs. To say they dont is absurd. They use a different file structure than windows, which is the major OS, which means that there are LESS viruses out n the net for macs then there are for windows so the chance you'll get one is lower.

People who say that Macs suck probably have never used a Mac in their life. I've used a PC all my life but I've used Macs in school. I thought they were very unique and cool with their capabilities. I'm going to be buying a Mac Book Pro here very soon. And to get a point out to people who post that Macs don't ever get viruses, they are both right and wrong. Most of the viruses today are programmed more towards the windows platform. They don't make viruses for Macs much but they can still get one

macs DO NOT get viruses, there has never been a virus outbreak on the mac platform. On windows its every 5 seconds somewhere in the world. Been using macs for 10 years no viruses as of yet. i installed windows xp in vmware on my mac and it was only 30 minuets before I got a virus, with no protection installed. My macs have never got viruses and no problems what so ever and that only has its UNIX foundation and still much more secure

well if u recently baught one then how would you know? you dont get a virus the first time u log on on windows aswell. to say the truth the best/only way to get a virus on any computer is to surf for porn xD
