Ok, I haven`t seen the second Blair witch. Maybe bechause of the budget? I mean the "consept" is not the same. But I`ll give it a try ofcourse..

I haven`t really tought about it that way, but, I think you are right! And it is the biggest film ever. From human advances, all the way to Jupiter..

I love this film for it's depth vision and general all round brilliance! But things like Blade runner were cool & had the poetic tears in the rain bit and Starwars had religious underertones to it(and really cool effects for it's time) both were also brilliant in their own way. My point being that there is an awful lot of good science fiction! This did have an epic quality that I have not seen since though !! Arther C Clark & Kubricks respective genius still astounds!

The movie doesn't make any sense what-so-ever until after you read the book; it's still better to watch the movie first though to help you imagine the epicness.

This movie is definetly one of the greatest achievements of human kind.

i agree 100% with your comments.saw this in 1968 when i was 7.must have watched it thousands of tomes.sheer genius never equalled.

I concur with gusto, rtmiyake. Though as a science fiction film, it certainly doesn't have much competition. It is perhaps the sole intelligent, worthwhile science fiction film ever made.
