I figured I shout step in and give you a serious answer. When the Pilgrims came to the "New World" they had no idea what weather and growing conditions they'd have. During their first winter, they were starving to death. The Native Americans stepped in and helped the pilgrims. Thanksgiving is a celebration of the good harvest, and shows thankfulness that we didn't all die. There you have it, in a nutshell.
