It is not violent. U must read all parables of Jesus then U'll understand this one also. It means that the day U accept Jesus as Lord savior, the FIRST ones who will appose U will be of ur own close family members. This I have experienced practically as my own brothers lined up againt me when I accepted Christ-as its fear of world outside who will appose us now, all my family are christian from b4, only differece that they just go to church sometimes but don't want to talk Jesus like me.
