What made it special was that she did both well at the same time. Very few people can sing and play the drums at the same time. And she looked so relaxed while doing it, like she was just watching TV!

I know she had an extraordinarily awesome voice, but what does the narrator mean "it was her voice and drums" that caused the band to be special? There was nothing special about her drum playing

Honestly, it's just gin and cigarettes, to me. Her voice has always just made me horribly miserable, even as a child. Before I even knew what happened to her, I just knew that voice ripped out my heart and ruined my month.
Strange how I keep going back to it. Call me a masochist.

The thing about Karen is that she didn't have to prove how good of a singer she was. She was simple..beautiful..and so melodic. She didn't have to hoot and holler and scream like a lot of female singers do. She is the type of singer where you can hear her sing one word and you know it is her. That is the mark of a gifted vocalist. I hope you are at peace now Karen, and thank you for your voice.
