Use Compiz Fusion as Beryl as it is Beryl's successor (The Compiz and Beryl projects re-merged quite a while ago to form Compiz Fusion). It is pre-installed in Ubuntu by default (System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Effects).

You need to go to the add/remove and install Ubuntu restricted extras. then it will all work fine. :)

I have just installed linux - Ubuntu Hardy Heron. I am new to ubuntu. Why can i not play youtube videos in my browser? I have installed the flash player but it still says you either have java script turned off or using an old version of flash player. If i need to turn java script on how do i do it? please reply with an email? Thanks:D

Ubuntu is one of the multiple Linux distributions, Ubuntu its the best for newbie PC users. Also, Beryl its a aditional software for Linux, but you can easy install from ubuntu program manager.

forgive my ignorance but is beryl an independent operative system or an extension of ubuntu, or i dont know im new on this cause i just quited on windows its just too shity, and wats better... ubuntu or linux? cause i just installed linux on my CP
