i think it's a testament to how popular the classic cartoons are that there's thousands upon thousands of people watching them on You Tube but i think it's lost on network TV and some cable channels as well, except Boomerang.

The thing about the duck is somewhat accurate, the only difference is instead of peeling, they aren't born with feathers at all. But it's more commonly done with chickens rather then ducks.
