And Jesus said unto Peter: "You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" Matthew 16:18

O que isso tem haver com a igreja?????
Matt3740 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Thank You! The Christian faith is one of love to God and all people and were giving Christ a bad name.

I agree completely. It's all of you that spread Christian misunderstanding and hatred between your fellow brethren. Stop attacking each other.

I know that all of you have written quite awhile ago and probably wont see this but why are you damning each other and arguing? We Christians are to unite under one Lord, Jesus Christ! Im a devout Traditionalist Catholic but I firmly believe in Christian Unity!!!!!

St. Linus took his place. Then St. Anacletus took his place then St. Clement I, etc. It is called Apostolic Succession and continues with Pope Benedict to day. The Church also rose so greatly because it was founded by Christ himself and is guided by God, the Holy Spirit. Again how does the early church members being martyred have a bearing on the greatness of the church? I would think the church becoming so great while its members were being martyred points to the validity of the Church.

AMEN!!!

ok. lets say Peter was killed, then how did the catholic church rose so greatly?
stgianna (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
How does someone being killed negate their status in the Church? Many Saints were martyred. Does that make them not saints. Your statement is stupid. You should indulge in some truth. Go to a Catholic Mass, preferably a Tridentine Mass.

Christ did make the Catholic Church, you need to do some homework. Peter was the first Pope.
