I'd heard that his ambition is to be able to control the robot from another part of the world and give lectures to his classes without being there. I reckon that would be a lecture and a half!

That's high quality, slightly translucent silicone which gives a realistic look, but it's fragile and wears out quickly. I guess the goal in Japan is to merge realism with walking robots like Asimo. If the laws of physics allow it, I guess the Japanese will evntually do it.
