This song reminds me of such pure innocence. I remember me and my Irish friend Sally were on our way to the infamous Costa Brava Club in London that night, and she was so happy when we heard over the car radio that Dana had won the Eurovision. So it was champagne all around when we got there. (Of course Sally had to pay!)

She's a great "girdil". She was only 17 when she won and is still a beautiful person - very nice and humble. She ran for the Presidential Elections here in the Republic of Ireland some years back and while she didn't win, she got a very respectable vote. Also she won the European Parliament elections and was MEP for Ulster/Connaght (or something) for a term. She still appears in tv in Ireland and while she doesn't sing too much she's quite the celebrity. Is gra liom thu Dana !

Could not agree more: If you ask me, THE best winner ever in the ESC. Nothing performed these days can even remotely compare to this pearl of a song. What a beauty!

I think she was eighteen or nineteen then but she married into a wealthy family after that. she did get into politics and ran for the DAIL which is the equivelent of Parlement over here in ireland,, anyway she has always been a sweet heart over here ,,, Mike

wow, what a good quality song! What a difference between that and that silly Turkey Dustin thing that embarrassed us recently. Ireland could easily enter better songs than some of the entries in recent years. I mean, really easily...Who's responsible?!...
