IT sounds like you have a great set up maybe the problem with it taking so long would be the RAM try boosting your ram up. I have the 08 model iMac 3.06 ghz, 4 gb Ram, 500 hard drive, and the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS : Graphics card. It runs great.

Hi thanks for help it's a Power pc G5 running panther 10.5.3.and has 1.25 GB DDR SRAM it all worked fine with imove 06 and tiger but has been so slow when I upgraded to panther and imovie 08 cheers Mightymouse.

hi emeek77 great video got me started imovie08 real good, you said when you share to quicktime it was real fast but not for me it's real slow very slow like hours , do have anyway I can speed it up it's driving me nuts.
