When I was a CSR and someone had this type of attitude, 1st you never repeat your name and 2, you never argue, just hang up and if they did catch yer name, you just tell your Super that the connection was bad and you told him, or you tell em the truth; He's being an angry asshole!

This guy has had enough. I got irritable with a web service tech a little while ago. Computers drive you mad sometimes.
The phone-guy is being difficult - he's got his voice in neutral and he's patronizing. Dell are crap.

2. Help them best you can
3. Don't take it personal. They are not angry at you, they are angry with the company.
Much can be resolved with understanding and compassion for the customer. The customers complaing should never divert from the company to the company's customer support. Because if it does, then that means you share the blame. You become part of the problem and not the solution.

Are you kidding me? You think it should be on your terms? The customer is always right remember? You are simply the punching bag for the customer becuase the owner or corporates don't want to deal with customers. You know why? Because they know that at some point they will screw the customer. So they hire you to be the face that gets slapped. Nothing is on your term with that job. You're a puppet. The best thing you can do is
1. see it from the customers point.

Thats a great thing to say, but I would like to see how you feel if all you got was a robot and no CS people.
Or when you or someone you know decided to look for a job but every CS person was laid off and looking for one too.
I used to do CS, and its one of the worst jobs ever... because of customers. I can give you some steps for good customer service.
1. dont assume they are wrong.
2. Dont call to argue
3. dont fight over giving some information and make a 30 sec process take hours.

i had the same problem with OPTUS, i called them 23 days in a row, sometimes 2-5 times a day and waiting on hold wasn't the major problem, it was that they didn't resolve the issue i had the first time i called, they kept doing the same thing and just asking me the same questions -doing some stupid tests that i've done like every time. and every time they'd be like "your filter is faulty, we'll send you a new one" i have 18 filters in my house now -apparetnly they're all faulty. i gave up. |
