Wrong. that was Operation Ivy. OP Ivy ended in 89. After that Tim and Matt were in a few unsuccessfull bands (Dancehall Crashers, Downfall). They formed Rancid in 1991.

pretty much started from operation ivy,
when that went gone, some members made rancid, still retaining to a ska punk feel.

Rancid formed in 1991. fact. no question about it. tim started with operation ivy in 1987.

rancid didnt form in '87, it was '91 or '93 or sumthin. in '87 tim had just started with op ivy |
