Actually, I think that it's emotionally honest to say "is" there! :) For me, the endless re-consumability (I know! I know!)of modern music paradoxically gives rise to one of its most moving aspects. I can always 'suspend disbelief' and experience songs like these anew each time that I play them, or see them on good ol' youtube (take a bow, youtube staff!).

just think that back in the days they didnt have the studio tec they have now days,,but yet they will still sound better vocalaly then any singer on the charts at the moment...what legends,

yes... only it's verry sad that you like his version better, for the reason that you can't cover a song of Percy Sledge, 'cause really NO ONE can sing and do it like him!

I agree.
Al Green comes very, VERY close in my opinion, but even he isn't as good a singer as Otis is.
