i moved from windows to linux without trying the live cd or any previous use of linux and i will never switch back to windows. you can run your windows programs in ubuntu with wine, i can sync my ipod in ubuntu, and ive got DirectX 10 games running smoothly in ubuntu. less crashes and i dont have to restart my computer every hour because of a program freezing my computer screen.

I'm not sure it is fair to make GUI the crux of your arguement against Linux, not trying to bash you but I feel that you are possibly a little to defensive of MAC OS X 10 to make it a fair arguement between Linux and Windows & MAC. But I do agree that after experimenting with a variety of Linux distributions based on Red Hat and Debian, I lost interest in Linux in the end and have unfortunately reverted back to Windows - just the way it goes I suppose!

darkparadox23, I might be completely wrong but I think Banshee supports the use of ipod on linux. I used Ubuntu for a brief period and I think I read somewhere Banshee supports Ipods but then again I could be completely wrong :-S |
