It's true. I think they're giving him royalties for it. The funny thing is that Wayne claims he didn't know about the simalarities until producer David Fridmann pointed them out.

I'm fairly new to The Flaming Lips, having only recently discovered them, but I am now a confirmed fan of the band. I am amazed at how incredibly creative this group is. I love most of their original material that I've heard, so far, and I am blown away by what they can do when they are covering other people's material. Case in point, the Tommy medley they did for VH1 Rock Honors The Who. Check it out!
