Christ, they were so good. I used to be totally transfixed with "Bellybutton", but once I heard "Spilt Milk" I realized that they simply never received the sort of acclaim that they were due.
I think a lot of the commenters here have said it well: nobody was prepared for such a huge leap to greatness with their second album, and they really were the Big Star of their day. Shame. Amazing, innovative, catchy, wonderful, totally overlooked band. At least we know and love them.

This used to be like my favorite song like 14 years ago when I was in high school. It was a great song for a confused high schooler that couldn't chose between hippy and rock.

I got to see Jellyfish, in NYC, in 1993 and it was one of the coolest shows. They were great.
