It is a very touchin story. The meaning of his way is the matter here, not his survival skills. I bet that most of people without heart who critic his die, they don´t last 2 weeks over there. Or better, come to Patagonia, Argentina, and try it alone without guides, and you´l see what happen.. sun of daddies yanquis.

An unfortunate mistake? Or simply negligence. He didn't have to die. Therein lies the question... is that what he ultimately wanted.

wow you really obviously did not understand Chris's intentions. He was sick of societies grip, he needed to get out. His death was an unfortunate mistake, anyone with a FULL brain could have made it.

no Chris McCandless died in Alaska after 130 odd days in the wild .. the movie and book was written in conjunction with his family so everything we see is accurate. absolutely brilliant movie. one of the best
