wtf are you smoking? this stuff is just as good as his old stuff...both solo and with the cars. granted, he's apparently went off the deep end with the hair, but with a wife like his...and with all the muff he's gotten in the past, do you really think he cares? i loved ric and the cars back in the 80s, and still listen to all of his/their stuff all the time.

I didn't say his solo stuff sucks. I listen to two of his albums, 1982,1986 - both perfect

I was lead to hear about Ric when I bought "Saturn Strip" by Alan Vega in 2004. I remember myself sitting on a self made "moonshape" island at the edge of the Salagou lake (south France) ... and listening to "Saturn Strip" CD. At the time it was pretty cool, by windy night. And two months ago I found in a shop "Door to Door", "Fireball Zone" and "Troublizing". Then I thought : he's as good as Vega ! Ric has a cool voice and style, and everybody must like him for his music and voice !

I disagree with all of you guys, Ric's solo stuff is pretty damn good, as much as I want him back with The New Cars, I understand why he refuses to do so. Also Door To Door is an awsome Album, highly underated.

I love the *Coming Up You* and *You are the girl* AND THE BEST SINGLE OF RIC OCASEK IS *KEEP ON LAUGHIN'* YOU GOTTA CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DONT KNOW IT!!!

Heartbeat City was cool. In fact a great album. But it was the beginning of the end of the "Rock" Cars sound. In fact Door to Door should have been called Snore to Snore. Greg Hawkes keyboard playing keep that album alive. Strap Me In was good.

or album like Heartbeat City don't you think?

Ric, you have lost it man. Either its drugs or you simply dont care what people think. I miss that Ric from The Cars. Even your solo Emotion in Motion was cool. But this stuff today is out there. I mean like on another planet out there. Dude, go sit down with any of The Cars albums like Shake it up, and get writing in that style. I will even pay $30 to see you solo. We miss you here on planet Earth. Wont you please come back?
