Also, the phrases you mention appear in a pretty clear context, so with a little use of english thesaurus they can be pretty easily substituted with polish slang phrases. The biggest problem is when the context is not clear so much, for example "chandelier shagging anointed ones", I'm still not sure if I got this right.

It is true, that Screenwipe is difficult to translate, mainly because it's so nicely written (Brooker is first and foremost a writer and a columnist). That's why you have to not so much translate as interpret it to stay true to the original 'feel' of the message. You can also get away with not getting everything right, eg. I just made up "little monkey" in "****** wants to be like the pretty people on the television?" part. I thought it sounded good in Polish and was consistant with the style.

Screenwipe goes multilingual, excellent. Do widzenia!

The person who translated this must speak great English but I was just wondering, Brooker uses some made up words here (combination words, like "smugitude" and "fuckwitt" which is a common British slang phrase) and some typically British phrases, like "a rum state of affairs". I wonder how these words or phrases were translated into Polish? This is a great clip, by the way. Dziękuję!
